Mason Wells from Utah happened to be at the wrong place (again)

26/03/16 - 19-year-old Mason Wells was among the victims of the bomb attacks at Brussels Airport. He is recovering in a Ghent hospital, but was prepared to talk to the VRT to tell about what happened last Tuesday. "We were really close. I feel lucky to have escaped."



John Kerry: "Ik ben Brussel"

26/03/16 - John Kerry had comforting words for Belgium and for the victims of the Brussels attacks on Friday. Speaking at a press conference, Kerry said some words in French and Dutch, to show the American support and sympathy, referring to Charlie Hebdo: "Je suis Bruxellois. Ik ben Brussels. (I am a Brussels citizen)."

26/03/16 - The American Secretary of State John Kerry was in Belgium on Friday to express his condolences after Tuesday's terrorist bombings. He met PM Charles Michel (and spoke a few sentences in Dutch) and King Filip. "Together we stand strong in the fight against terrorism" was the main message.

Amateur footage shows arrest at Schaarbeek tram stop

These images shot by a local resident show how the police detained a suspect at the Meiser tram stop in Schaarbeek. The footage was taken shortly after the police had shot the suspect in the leg after he had twice refused to let them look at the contents of his rucksack.
