New Year’s Eve 2016 Celebrations Around Rio de Janeiro

From all-inclusive parties to balls to celebrations in bars and clubs, there's an event for everyone who's looking to ring in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro.

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – While the famous Réveillion (New Year’s Eve) party is expected to draw millions of people from Brazil and from around the world to the Copacabana beach on December 31st, celebrations will take place throughout the city of Rio de Janeiro and in surrounding areas during the night.

The 20th edition of the Réveillon do Morro party will take place on Morro da Urca and will feature live entertainment, a buffet, and views of the Copacabana fireworks from 396 meters above the ocean, press image.
In addition to the fireworks display in Copacabana, there will be separate fireworks shows on Praia do Flamengo; in the city’s West Zone neighborhood of Barra da Tijuca; and in the neighboring city of Niterói, where the band Jota Quest will perform live on the city’s Icaraí beach. 
Back in Rio, several venues throughout the city will host parties where guests can see the fireworks from the venue. In Lagoa, the Jockey Clube do Rio de Janeiro will host the 10th edition of its Rio Reveillon party. During the event, DJs will spin and the bateria (percussion section) of the Mangueira samba school, Sapucapeta, and the band Groove Box will perform live. 
Also in Lagoa, the Palaphita Lagoa will host the all-inclusive party, Réveillon Palaphita Lagoa 2016. Buchecha, Rodrigo Lampreia, Bernardo Malta, and additional guests will provide entertainment during the event. 
In nearby Gávea, the Sociedade Germania will host Réveillon da Gávea 2016. An all-inclusive party, the event will feature performances and sets from Mr. Catra, Zeh Pretim, Tropkillaz, Arca de Noé, Bahruth, Bhering, the Love Sessions Crew, Leondre, Marcio Careca, Tucho, Pachu, Dadu, and Farinha. 
In Urca, the 20th edition of Réveillon do Morro will begin at 9PM and will feature live entertainment from the band Soul de Quem Quiser and the bateria (percussion session) of the Unidos da Tijuca samba school. Additionally, DJs Janot and João Rodrigo will spin during show intervals. Service includes a buffet with food from the Cota 200 Restaurante and an open bar. Both the Copacabana fireworks and the Praia do Flamengo fireworks can be seen from the venue.

In Humaitá, Casa de Espanha will host Reveillon Modinha 2016. The carnival bloco Empolga ás 9 and MC Marcinho will perform live. DJ Chu will spin and VJ Raton will provide visuals throughout the night. There will also be a mini spa, Videokê (video karaoke), and Super Wii during the event. 
In Glória, the MAM – Museu de Arte Moderna will host the all inclusive Réveillon Cidade Maravilhosa 2016 party. Carrossel de Emoções and Primeiro Amor will perform and DJs Tartaruga, Gagau Dieckman, and Rodrigo Loyola will spin during the event. Attendees of this party can view the fireworks shows from Niterói, Praia do Flamengo and Copacabana.
In Ipanama, Hotel Caesar Park will host the rooftop party, Réveillon at Rendez Vous with DJs Gringo da Parada and Tchiky al Dente spinning during the event.
