FDNY members greet pint-sized New Yorkers in today’s #FDNY150 photo, taken at Engine 76 and Ladder 22 on the Upper West Side of Manhattan during the Department’s citywide Open House Event. More than 20,000 people visited Firehouses and EMS Stations on May 2nd of this year, in celebration of the FDNY’s 150th Anniversary.
FDNY Fire Commissioner Daniel A. Nigro cuts the cake at EMS Station 27 in today’s #FDNY150 photo, kicking off the Department’s citywide open house events celebrating the 150th Anniversary of the FDNY. On May 2nd, Firefighters, Paramedics and EMTs welcomed visitors into more than 200 Firehouses and EMS Stations, where they educated the public about fire and life safety, conducted demonstrations, discussed the Department’s storied history, and offered tours of FDNY apparatus.
