Times Square- Vintage Color Film--Looking Back to 1945 with glimpse of 1964 as well

Times Square has always been a very special place in New York City

I remember young guys from the military when they were in NYC, the first place they would head for was Times Square (which by that time had become pretty sleazy)--they went there because it was the only place they all knew about

Of course,  the annual New Year's eve TV show has become a national thing too now

I have shown a brief bit of what it is like today, with Mickey Mouse around

Of course, no view of 1945 in Times Square in NYC would be complete without that famous shot of the sailor kissing the nurse on V-J Day (or was it V-E Day?) ( I wasn't born yet, amazingly, seeing how it seems like I have been around to see so many ancient wonders)
