Built in 1924-25, there is a commemorative plaque on the side of this building that lists a lot of its history,--but dammit my shots of that did not come out well, of all things! Anyway, I will see what I can find on the net and also decipher from what I can read on my viewing of the plaque..
Buildings like this are sprinkled around Midtown and we just kind of take them and their design beauties for granted... love the attention they gave to doorways in this place
It is typical that a side door is treated with just as much concern to detail etc. as the main door...
With its use of terra cotta and other materials, I note the plaque says it may be the first real example of art deco design in the United States...

Madison Belmont building at 181 Madison Avenue on the corner of East
34th Street in the Murray Hill neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City
was built in 1924-25 and was designed by the firm of Warren &
