Scandanavia House

The Scandanavia House is at 58 Park Avenue, four blocks south of Grand Central Terminal.

It has a shop, a restaurant and exhibits.

A long time ago there was a substantial Scandanavian presence in NYC but it soon moved out as new waves of immigrants came in, mostly to the upper Middle West and the Pacific Northwest.

One Norwegian American enclave was formed in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, and still exists to some extent ( used to be the churches would have services in both English and Norwegian).

There are very few Scandanavian restaurants in Manhattan...
