You could miss this building very easily, and the plaque declaring its Landmark Status.Built as the Grolier Club in 1890, it now houses a rug store on the ground floor and who knows what else above.
There are a lot of people interested in landmarking buildings in New York...owners frequently object because then they are put under all kinds of restraints in renovating them.
